PEI Provincial Parks offers visitors and Islanders alike endless opportunities to enjoy the outdoors through the extensive network of sites which includes 11 campgrounds, 15 day-use sites and Confederation trail. Stretching from one end of the Island to the other, Provincial Parks features spectacular beaches, outdoor recreation facilities, and amazing scenery highlighting the natural splendor of our Island landscape. A key element of the parks system is Confederation Trail, a province-wide trail system which covers the Island from tip to tip (270km) with over 400km of hiking and biking paths.
Government has recognized the importance of our Provincial Park system to both the Tourism Industry and local communities through its commitment to invest over $4.2M into PEI Provincial Parks over the next 5 years. Provincial Parks has developed a Capital Projects Improvement Plan which will see upgrades to facilities including new comfort stations, additional/upgraded camp sites, beach improvements and the continued development of Confederation Trail.
